I decided to check if people registered domains that related to this story.

DubaiBankruptcy.com – Registered on 11.28.2007 and expired 11.28.2009 (tomorrow) – what a coincidence!

By the way – DubaiFallout.com is free for registration 
I personally didn’t register any related domains, it’s not my cup of tea.

I find the strategy of buying news-related domains very interesting. In the past, I have purchased timely keywords via Google AdWords and sometimes they will work really well, especially in the financial services industry because the interest is high (the terms are in the news everyday) and the competitions is low (people haven’t fully figured out the opportunity yet). Similarly, I find this strategy in domaining very powerful and hope to focus more on these opportunities as they come up in the future!
